About Second Arrow Consulting
Turning complexity into confident action
-
Over two decades in higher education and mission-driven organisations, I’ve worked at the intersection of governance, strategy, and academic systems — often in moments of pressure, change, or institutional uncertainty.
What I’ve seen consistently is this: complexity rarely comes from a lack of expertise. It comes from competing priorities, unclear assumptions, and decisions made without enough space for clear thinking.
-
My work is less about applying a fixed model and more about creating the right conditions for clarity.
That often means slowing conversations down at the right moment, surfacing what’s unspoken, and helping leadership groups work through complexity in a structured and thoughtful way.

The name “Second Arrow” comes from the idea that while we can’t always control the first arrow — the challenge, the constraint, the pressure—we can shape how we respond.
In complex organisations, that second response is often where clarity is lost: decisions become reactive, conversations narrow, and options feel constrained.
My work is about creating the space to respond differently — with greater clarity, coherence, and intention.
